_Blow Thru Your Mind_ - A modal jazz classic -- beautifully soulful, and filled with rich underground energy! The set is one of a rare few recorded by saxophonist Byron Morris -- and it features his Unity group blowing through some long, spiralling tunes that have a fantastic spiritual approach that made the record an instant classic when it was first issued in 1974. The album includes the jazz dance classic track "Kitty Bey" -- plus three numbers with great vocals by Jay Clayton: "Reunion", a hard fast groover; "Transcendental Lullaby", a soulful spiritual number; and "Ether", a dreamy contemplative tune. The Vibrations Themes & Serenades is a fantastic album too and includes a lovely rendition of the Kenny Barron composition Sunshower. Definitely worth seeking out!
