They are wonderful music team. It's a sampling polish jazz of 70's and 80's. When I saw "Brunet wieczorową porą" or many other polish serial films ;-) (without "Klan" ect. ofkozz :D) I've heard music sounds like this :-) Wspaniałe przedsięwięcie. p.s. przepraszam za mój angielski (sorry for my english, but I'don't speak well ;-)

I just LOVE Skalpel. I'm from poland and so are they. I think their music is one of the best nu-jazz music 'round the world. I just love "theme from behind the curtain".

if you like CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA,
you are sure to enjoy the self-titled SKALPEL disc.
Great warm downtempo smokey jazz.

from allmusic.com:
Sampled or not, Skalpel is a very live-sounding record; despite the
occasional
crackle of a dusty LP, the duo at times uses extensive soloing passages from
the musicians they've either hired or sampled (much of it excellent). And
the
range of that sampling is broad; Skalpel surveys several decades of jazz,
from
late-'50s beatnik cool to late-'60s distorted, electric jazz-rock to the
deep,
exploratory fusion of the '70s
