This is one of my favorite Stereolab albums. If I remember correctly it was the first that I heard. It sent me searching for more, more, more.

Dots and Loops is totally amazing. The mood elicited is so hypnotic and pure melancholy.
Beautiful music, so uplifting.
I can listen to this on all formats, vinyl, tape,cd, mp3..whatever.

this is the first album i've ever owed of theirs. I really lucked out. It is the perfect soundtrack for a really down time in my life(got divorced). But insted of telling me to stay down and out I would listen to this and really escape the confines of house, rock, hip hop and just chill and smile. I couldn't really grasp the sound....I used to tell y freinds it was like the "Carpenters on Acid:...the electro harpsicord sounds, overlaying vocals, quasi funki guitars in contronatura make for a diverse album. Still a favorite.

Some people think that Stereolab has taken a turn towards 'over-production' with this album. its unfortunate how superficial standards keep these people from embracing the innovative brilliance of how this album was engineered. Props to John McEntire

Way to over produced and 'jazzy'. What many call progression I call tame. HOW ABOUT SOME TRANSIENT NOISE DAMN IT!

This is my first stereolab experience and I love it. The mellow sophistication of aural textures in this work is astonishingly warm and futuristic.

Stereolab - can't get much more Stereolab-like than that.
Cool record, but they're in danger of becoming overproduced.

Track seven gets on my nerves, being a bit crap and fifteen
minutes long, so I'm grateful to have the CD and being able
to skip it. I like records too (but I hate cassette tapes).

This was the first time I heard a Stereolab album, and now I know I have lost wonderful times for so many years in this life. Thanks for the 1st movement of "Refractions...", and, especially, "Prisoner...", and "Contronatura".
I thank god I have the record (I hate CDs)

This is one of 1997 best releases. I love this record, they just keep
getting better with each effort. If you like this album as much as I do then you should
pick up the new album from the French duo called Air.

I tried to like this record, but the combination of Sterolab's
French-influenced pop with Tortoise's fusion inclinations (courtesy
of John McEntire's production) made for a very queasy, yet unaffecting
listening experience for me. Stereolab used to be one of my favorite
bands, so either I've fossilized or their tastes have drifted away from
mine. Either way, this album was a disappointment.
