The title sounds like some cool early 70s thriller -- and so does the music! The group's a stripped-down combo with keyboards, guitar, sax, trumpet, and percussion -- and they play with a style that reminds us of dark 70s soundtracks like Death Wish or some of Roy Budd's best work. Don't worry about the fact that they're a new group -- because there's no kitschy gimmickry or fake retro feel. The grooves are solid all the way through -- and if the album had the date of 1974 stamped on the back, you'd probably never guess they were around today! All instrumental, with a hip jazzy downtempo sound -- and a fresh approach that will have you pulling this one out again and again. [DustyGroove]
