A wicked collaboration between Dutch keyboardists Rob Franken and Jan Huydts – a set that has the pair of them really stretching out on Fender Rhodes, Arp, clavinet, and other keyboards – with only a bit of drums to back them up! Yet although the set's got a really freewheeling sort of feel, it's never too jamming – as both players have a strong inherent sense of rhythm that really keeps things on track – a great little groove that makes for a wonderful little record – one that comes off more like a familiar Fender Rhodes trio date than you might think! There's a nice degree of funk at points, but also some modal elements that really make the set cook – a vibe that's right up there with the best MPS keyboard-heavy sets, such as the classic early work by George Duke – although without any vocals here.
