I interviewed Amon in the past and did'nt really get the chance to actually get through to him. He was quite sick at the time (I gave him lots of Valarien). I'm merely looking to contact him. I can't stop listening to "Slowly", or anything else for that matter.

I reckon that this one is his best work. A bit darker / more illbient than the more recent.

Permutation and Supermodified are two must have cd's. If you have never listened to tobin before check out amon tobin - four ton mantis (you should find it on napster no problem) :D.

Tobin is master at creating a sound all his own. He manages to mix the most unusual samples, providing for an incredible listening experience.

Great live too!

Amon Tobin is a great artist. I've been listening to most of his work and I must say that THE MAN is most talented. Some of his work reminds me of Angelo Badlamenti and Barry Adamson.

Hey, i love good music, but track #4 of his Permutation CD was something else. The rest of the CD I leave up for grabs other than two other jazzy snazzy tunes I enjoy when relaxing. That one track (#4-Sordid) is worth supporting the artist.

Yes! "This is Jaaaazzz" indeed! Wow!! Amon is deffinetly a drum n bass prophet! His tracks are like as artsy as is the work of Picasso! The blend of electronica and jazz has been classically redefined. Just like a masterpiece by Picasso, Amon's music is abstract yet sonically cohesive!

pulled this out today (haven't listened to it in over a year)
and DAMN!! its still as good as it ever was!
_bricolage_ has really held its own,
AND having been released in 1997 it pre-dated
much of the current jazz/dnb/electronica!
Yes, _bricolage_ has *serious* jazz overtones.
hell, it IS jazz.
awesome!
definitely a top pick of the decade.

The most inspirational album I've heared in so long. It's good to get a taste of music that has got a uniqueness to it. It's not jazz, it's not hip hop, it's not natural, and damn if it isn't the finest work of the year.

I bought just last week & basically I'm guffawed at it's superblativeness. It's everywhere you want to be. It's "now soul" forever. If you're alive & you don't like it, seek professional help.

One of my top-ten albums of 1997. Intelligent
beats, but still good and quite open melodies.
An album easy to love.

This album is 100% brilliant all the way through. Chopped up, deceptively
hard beats are overlaid by intricate jazz and slinky, soundtrack-style
ambience. Some of the songs are as dark as anything produced by Ed Rush,
yet Tobin is a clever enough producer to give the songs more depth and
color than all but the most brilliant No U-Turn tracks. If film noir, late
night jazz, or experimental beats are at all interesting to you, this album
is worth at least a few listens.
